The fbi 4links are good they come with heim joints I believe, less then 200 bucks...I wouldnt take the cheap route on the 4 link, cause you want it to be very safe...Good luck with your project

Well buddy, I will try to answer some of your questions as will the others on this forum!

You can buy the kit from whoever you'd like! Personally I would pick one up from SD or GW!

SD's 4-Link:

GW's 4-Link:

Gravity Werks is cheaper, but I don't know what they are quality wise! I know Suicide Doors are very good quality!

As far as time goes, if you have everything you need tool wise you should be able to weld up a 4-Link within a days time! Its just time consuming and a lot of measuring!

The 4-Link is going to run you EASILY $250, the only saving tips I have for you would be to buy just the LINK BARS and then if you have scrap metal or can get some CHEAP, you can make your own AXLE TABS and BRACKETS!

You can also get your own HARDWARE, but chances are for GR.8 you will spend the same amount if you just ordered it with the kit!

Anyways,

Good Luck!

And I would like to Second that again!

DO NOT TAKE THE CHEAP ROUTE!!!!

Thats prolly the best advice on 4-Links

I would also agree that the suicidedoors 4link is the best,The link bars are bigger and the bar ends are super thick, and plain badass, the thing is sometimes they are a little slow on thier shipping, but Id be willing to bet that they have the links in stock and ready to ship.

Yeah, I agree they aren't the best on shipping!

They have good days and bad days when it comes to shipping!

Whatever way you go, just make sure you take your time!

money saving tip - go to your local steel yard and buy a 20' stick of DOM and cut up and tap it yourself and only buy the rod ends or heim joints. if you are a competant tig welder and have access to all the equipment necessary it should be a breeze. if not then your best bet would prolly be to take the others advise and spend the money for a quality suicidedoors 4link. it'd be a lot easier to go that route.

The suicidedoors.com links are good, don't get me wrong, as I run one daily, but they're overkill and just create a lot of unneeded unsprung weight on the truck. ANY 4 link with 1" bars will be MORE than enough for your minitruck. The other downfall with the SD links is that the ends/bushings don't allow for as much deflection because of their size, so you actually get LESS articulation than with a regular sized link system. I would pretty much feel comfortable in buying a universal 4 link kit from anyone EXCEPT shAIM.

Do not buy a 4 link because it is cheaper than some other brands. The 4 link is a very important piece..... remember you get what you pay for. I have a quick story about 4 links. I have a 87 chevy that is bagged and b/d. I was running a Pete and Jakes 4 link with bags on the bars, bars reinforced. Driving down 476 past Philly on my way to a show. All of the sudden i hit an uneven part of the road to cross over a small bridge. My 4 link snapped.Sent my truck out of control across 3 lanes at 70 mph. I was shook up. Luckly i did not hit anyone and did not damage the body. This is what i figured went wrong. The heat created from welding on the bars for the bags and the reinforcement weakend the bars. Along with a 4 link that is not rated for a vehicle that weighs as much as my fullsize. Also by me hitting the uneven part of the road may have been enough force to make this all happen. So remember buy quality 4 links and know how or have someone who knows how install them on your truck. by the way i have a pete and jakes 4 link on my mazda and never had a problem..... Hope this helps you out.
