i buy all my stuff from mike at gravity-werx.com. I can do the rear of a truck in just a few hours time, but if you haven't ever done one befor, expect to spend about a good weekend on it.

only if you plan on running an over the axle bag setup. a 1" bar wouldn't be enough to rest the weight of your truck on... sure you could even go with like 3/4" DOM to locate the axle. BUT if you plan on running the bags on the bars, i'd run something a little heavier, like the SD 4link.

I have 4x 36" lengths of 2x2 1/4 wall square tube, going hopefully this weekend to get some 2" DOM and all the bushings for it. Havn't taken any measurements yet, but it's an extended cab so the 36" bars are definatly enough to work with. And it was all free from work. The plan is to have a "kit" built up in the next two weeks.

long bars are bitchin. i'm a fan of long link bars. those 2x2's would make good solid lower links, and you could mount your bag like halfway on that bar and be golden! 2" DOM might be overkill for upper bars... i might go with like 1 1/4 or something like that.

Schweet man. Yea I want the links as long as possible! I was actually thinking about using the 2x2 for upper and lower bars. The 2" DOM would just be for the bushings. Any downside to this? Should I get some 1 1/4 like you said for the tops?

so im going to with the FBI 4 link

as this is my first time could anyone tell me the best way to put this in(the steps i should use ) and maybe some pics

measure twice or three times, then cut.
cut less, you can always cut more off but its hard to add material.
mark your axle centerline on your frame and write it down somewhere else too, take measurements from like positions on your frame, ie: body mounts, the same holes on top, bottom or sides of the frame. you can tack the tabs on the axle and frame and mock up the link bars with the leaf springs in place too, thatll help. make sure your pinion angle is about 3degrees positive (up in front), as your engine is at 3 degrees pos. too.
are you running a bag over axle setup?

Lostb2200 - 2" dom for bushings is big!!! we use 1 3/4" OD(1 5/8"ID) for motor mount bushings where i work, and i personally used 1 1/2" OD(1 1/4"ID) dom for my bushings on my links...
the 2x2 all around would be heavy and i personally don't think an adjustible 2x2 looks good. you'd have to set it up non adjustible, which, isn't a problem if it's set up right the first time,
