i was wanting to run this by the resident suspension guru's & get some thought & input....

i've been considering installing an adjustable wishbone link setup on the rear of my truck, i'm not really feeling a parallel or traingulated 4-link setup, and not planning on notching the frame, nor am i gonna run bags, but rather adjustable coilovers.....i figure it will allow me enough adjustment to hookup w/o any wheel hop & also handle better than a leafspring type
suspension.....i know most everyone runs bags for the other adjustability reasons, but what experienc if any have ya'll had, what are your thoughts on this?

thx, nyt

thats the kind of rear suspension they run in the N.A.S.A. road racing mustangs that i have looked at. i think they put this setup in a mustang on spike tv this weekend.

i know the '05+ mustangs have a 3 link rear & the third link is or can be adjustable with an aftermarket link so you can "tune' the suspension....almost the same sorta setup, but the third link is a wish bone... thats all i want, excellent handling & the power to get to the ground!

do you have to run a pan-hard bar or watts-link on this type of suspension?

I was contemplating something like this before as well. I think its an awesome idea. I've never been a big fan of bags myself personally, They are cool for the fact you can drag, but I think stock suspension with a little tweaking would handle alot better.

What do you have in mind for the front? Anything special? Im sure theres a million possibilities and with enough time and money you could make it handle like a Formula One car if you wanted. haha.

Goodluck, keep us updated.

on the front, i have the jdm control arms, re-indexed the t-bars, toxic shocks, and the bell tech sway bar.....i'm thinking of maybe doing my bottom control arms like in the post a couple days a go, so i could do away with the t-bars & running coil overs or air shocks up front, also might try to use a set of the adjustable control arms that summit sells, currently on the rear i have the 3" belltech leaf springs & sway bar, toxic shocks that are going to be relocated from the stock position to a side to side mount....i may run it like it is for a while, then when i get a little more $$ do the link in the rear & modify the front too.....way too much time on my hands @ work, & i have a million thoughts running about the truck, just not enough time to work on the truck, well no time at all working 7-12's......

Also, what do you have for a wheel/tire combination? I think thats made the biggest difference for me, I remember the day I got my Denali's on I was out with this chick for the day...and I was driving her home, and wanted to see how these were for "Spirited Driving". Haha...I took this offramp at like 120 without the truck even breaking a sweat. LOl She thought we were gonna flipp or something. Love the offramps. Surprises everyone lol.

deffenitly go with a link set-up for traction man, i have the 351w in mine and have it tuned so i can stomp it and without getting any wheel hop it will only spin a car length or so, i dont think thats bad for all that motor in that small of a truck! I see what your going for, u gonna auto cross this thing or what=) just messing but i would deff go with some type of good link set-up for traction!

Hey Dude I watched someone tweak a late model Mustang on Speed or something recently and with the 3 link they specifically mentioned the panhard bar.I guess I would look at that first before u decided otherwise.ANd u realize that I am the worst to listen to on suspension since mine are bothe stock except for very good shocks, new sway bars front and rear and bushings ,and stock ride height.Lol.BJ
