i want to swap my truck to 5 lug all the way around and im debating on weather or not to get a yota axle. what is involved in swapping in a pre '86 yota axle? would it be cheaper to just get my mazda axle redrilled?

Ca'nt you just redrill the hubs?

yea but the machine shops around me wont or cant do it so new axles are my best option. for the rear. im gettin the fronts redrilled somewhere. idk where yet though

There's a guy on SSM that redrills the fronts and backs for a decent price, but I can't remember his s/n.

Got your own drill press? Hell.. I call bs on a shop to do it for you... You just have to be real careful drilling them if you did them yourself...

I had the guys name, but my PM box is full... It was a while ago.

i wouldn't even attempt to redrill them myself..............doesn't sound too safe i'd leave it to a professional, especially when the majority of pro's won't even redrill them.

Drill press, bolt pattern, and threading the holes... You just have to be precise, use the right tools, and know your measurements!

I talked to a guy about it on here. I came up with the idea that you could use many rims with some bolt patterns on your hub. So say you have 3 diff. bolt patterns. Well, switch the rims, and then redo the studs! Interchangeable rim styles! weee!
