each time you drill it out you are weakening it tho, to have 3 bolt patterns you would be taking out a fair bit of integrity from the hub wouldn't it???
IMO, no. But then again, I probably would be wrong! In any case, if you have to swap your rims every year and use more than a couple patterns, I think you would have a shopping addiction!
^^^ yeah it'd kill your shocks and tires. you'd get what they call 'cupping' on your tires. it would be one thing to do it all chocked up in a nice mill...but a drill press? i dunno dude...
Lol... Well, I never told anybody to do it. Me and a guy on here talked about it, and he said he's done it that way... Well, if I ever have to do a lug conv. I'll try it on a press! lol!
Hello I am the laynrockers from SSM that does 5lug conversions. To help on this I have done many 5lug conversions over the years. It is not a simple redrill!! Thats why most machine shops won't do it since it is hard to figure out how to do it and that does not make it cost efficient. Since I Charge $215 shipped with new studs installed most local machine shops can't do them for that. I can still remember when I did my very first set of mazda hubs. I had no idea how to get that pattern in there due to there was no room for it between 2 6lug patterns(lug pattern and rotor holes) They all got in the way. If you put 3 lug patterns in it that would be weak and possible break the hubs. Also I have seen people use the VW studs that thread in instead of press in like factory studs do. Most people break a lot of studs that way or it will strip the threads out of the hubs since they are only cast. If anyone needs a set redrilled let me know and I will get it done for you
