ya but I am 265 and poor mickey was almost crying the night he had to drive mehome but we pulled over and gave the fenders a yank and it didn't rub as much only when he had to turn.

yeh i might end up having to go to 4x4 sheetmetal but dont really want too. i like the 2wd body lines alot more just because it stays pretty flush giving it a more flowing look

lmao that was crazy. remember hitting every bump going straight and the wheels sounding like they were gonna rip the fenders off? hahaha

All in a day of bein a minitrucker.

my front rides pretty good the way it is, no problems so far. as for the rear i'm going to remove some leaves in the back to even it out. right now the back just has blocks and all the leaves.

if you have 4 leaf springs on each side like I did, take out the 2 middle ones, leaving the largest main leaf on top,and the short helper leaf on the bottom. If you only have 3 leaves, then just take out the middle one. I've seen some trucks with 3 leaves and some with 4.

OR...as Lance would suggest, keep all your leafs and go get your leaf packs dearched. It'll cost you a little bit,but you'll be much safer and stronger.

How much do the 40 series throw your speedo off? That's what I'm worried about going to a smaller tire, because I do LOTS of highway miles with my truck,so I don't wanna be revving the snot out of it. I'm already doing like 3500rpm at 75mph.

damn mikey 3500 at 75. i can be running 80 and only at 3400

I'm not sure how far its off but in my truck when i'm at 3000 rpms the speed is around 70-75 i think. I know i'm not going that fast and i dont want high revs either so i just stay around 3000 and no higher than 3500.

correction to my earlier post my truck has 215/45/17's on it. nice ride. now i feel like i got huge tires compared to everyone else. i dont get to much rubbin on outer fender but i need to cut my inner because it rubs there horribly, its extrememly unsafe because of bumps and holes. it grabs hard and tries to jerk me off the road

215/45 isn't big...just kinda wide,you dont really need more than 205.

Anyways,at 60mph I'm at about 2850rpm,just under 3000 with my 205/50s.

ok,so i resolved my tire issue with the rubbing and everything.

You can't run a 50 profile tire with the spindles. You might be hard pressed with a 45 too,but the 205/40s I got fit wonderfully.

I have the front end pretty low now and my truck scrapes the exhaust in my driveway when I pull in and out. However, when I hit bumps,or turn the wheels full lock,I don't rub or hit the fenders or anything.

Here's the result of 205/40s replacing 205/50s.
