not to long ..the problem is you will be riding on the stock shocks bottomed out all the time so they pop quick...if you have access to a welder yo can always chop the top mount raise it and use a stock shock for awhile its a cheap way to retain some kinda ride
i drove my truck for about 3 years lowered on 3 inch block, cranked torsions, and stock shocks. the day i spent the $140 for lowered shocks was one of the best decisions i ever made for my mazda. you will not be dissapointed.
try a set of rear shocks for a '77/'78 Mustang II. I believe they are really short and they are the right stud / eyelet configuration. plus they are cheap. I used front shocks from a '66-'68 Plymouth fury but they needed some easy modification to work. I think I paid $15 bucks each @ Napa
