so would you go bags on bars if you had 1" bars with 3/16" wall? i would run gussets on the bottom.

Me personally not at all, me I would only do bag on bar if the bars were 2 inch.

Bars should be a minimum of 1.75" round imo?

But I have done it....

ONLY if you ran full length gussets would it be ok

1" is still a bit small even if you run a gusset. You need a minimum of 1.25" .120 wall with gussets. If you run 1.75" .25 wall you can run no gussets, or 2" .188 wall. This is all specs for round tubing. Square changes absolutely.

We did bag on bars with a FBI 4 link on my buddys truck. It has 1" bars. Used the underbar gussets from SD. Hes had no problems with the bars bending. But if it was my truck I wouldnt use any smaller than 1.5".
