What do you have in the rear for the 5 lug swap?

If you have a pre-84 yota axle you will not need to narrow the frame!

If you don't, I still am quite sure that you will not need to narrow the frame...You will need to tub the firewall though!

You shouldn't need to narrow the frame. You just need a pretty narrow axle.

im running 22x8 all around and i will just need a smaller axle... since i still have my 6lug... i'm gonna try and find a pre 86 mazda sundowner or ford courier rearend and swap that in there as well as have a new driveshaft built.
but so far the only things that were keeping me from laying out are my front fender lips (which i rolled the passenger side the other night... still have the driver to do) ((i might post a tech article on it....hmmmm)) and the rear is being stopped due to the axle...
just my .02

the axle i got from the junk yard is from a 94 yota. im sayin im doing frame from the cab back, its just everone i have seen is narrowing there frames on here and on ssm.com. Cause in like a month our two in going to order my wheels but first im building my frame i just want the wheels to fit and tuck right when i order them so i dont have to rebuild the frame the second time ,im going to start building it when i get back from snowboarding in march i hvae all my metal and everthing .

so what backspacing is everone running with out narrowing there frames, cause if i dont have to narrow my frame that would be sweet and i could just bring the rail straight back and over the axle and square it off

94 Toyota axle probably isn't narrow enough. Its 57.5". Only about an inch narrower than the Mazda axle. You probably need something around 3-4 inches narrower.

And Audiomotion, when you get th early Mazda axle get the drive shaft too. All you need to do is have it shortened. Something like $100 at any good driveline shop.

thanks for the tip twisted... i'm currently on the lookout for one right now... just havent been able to hit up my local junk yards until this weekend. so hopefully i'll find one then

will this sucks it took me like a month to find that one, so now i wil have to look for a diff axle sweet. but i don have to narrow my frame right
