Front Suspension: Hydraulics

I'm new on here, I did a search and haven't come up with anything. Does anyone have pictures of a juiced Mazda's front suspension? I'm trying to decide if I should run coils/mini-coils/no coils with accumulators. And if I do run a coil should it coil it over or under? I've built and help build a few lowriders but never tried to lay something out that had torsion bars.

Most on this site tend to bag their trucks, but I have seen some sweet Hydro set ups in the past. I would run 8" cylinders in the front, no coil on those ball ends mounted directly to the lower control arm. Remove the sway and torsion bars completely. Accumulators a must. With a truck this light you will never get it to ride decently on coils. Set up the rear the same with a bridge notch and 4 link. Just my 2 pennies.

I might just break down and buy bags... I've been doing some thinking... I'm about 50/50 on it right now.

My dawg is juiced and uses accumulators. Basically my truck was all set up for airshocks (give me a break it was 1995!) in the front with some seriously beefy mounts. So what we did was order some side ported 6 inch cylinders, weld a shock mount to one end and thread a hymes joint into the other and bolt them in. Works and rides like a dream! Bags are great but I never have to worry about waiting for my tank to fill up. I run 36 volts and nitrogen charged greerolator accumulators with about 150 PSi in the front and 70 ish in the back. What brand of juice are you going to run? Make sure whomever you get your kit from that you are getting fenner brand pumps, there is none better. I have had mine since 95 and they are still working fine.

I'll just ask this here, about how much will a set of dro's cost compared to bags?

the price is comparable... the same type of work will have to be done to the truck for either install. the only thing that hydros use that bags dont are : batteries and oil. if you get a dependable setup either one will be fine (i have had both and like them equally) if you develop a leak with hydros you get oil everywhere. if you develop a leak with air you can't raise your truck (worst case) or it leaks down over night (best case) i am all for either one but costwise... depending on your pumps, batteries etc... you can spend 2000.00 or less installed for a decent basic setup. bags you can spend the same... the real cost difference is how fast you want it to be.... more batteries means faster with switched... bigger valves mean faster with bags.
a basic hydro setup is 2 pumps, 3 or 4 batteries, f,b,s,s, will run about 2000-2500 installed
a basic bag setup is 1 comp, 1 5 gal tank, 4 3/8" valves(or 8 for f,b,s,s,)
and a few switches or some gauges
i didnt include bags or cylinders into the setup due to each person wanting a different size but......whatever your budget will allow be it bags or juice.
i vote both.... bag the front and juice the rear...(you can 3 wheels that way..........lol)

my mazda used to be juiced and it was coil under, my other mazda is still juiced and it has coil over, it has skinies on the front with a soft spring but i still like the under set up better, rode pretty decent
