Of course it will work. The only thing is that as the bag gets softer (less PSI) the coil spring will still be the spring rate, and won't compress anymore, and you will be left with a truck that no longer has a shock. At any point where the coil spring rate is greater than the bag's spring rate you won't have shocks, and will get a bouncy ride. Mike's setup apparently has locks at different stages using actuators and pins. This will give the same ride at any height.

On Mikes truck the bags are only used for lifting purposes. After the bags lift the truck to height they are locked and the coilovers take over. Atleast this is what I am told. As far as using the the second push rod as the coilover, the force is going to be absorded by the softest one first making the harder one usless. I would have to say that this would make the ride very unpredictible and almost impossible to tune.

What about front setups that use cantilevers..... doesn't DIB's mazda have that setup?? Anyone have pics of front cantilevers?

i've seen plenty of hotrods (32, 33, 34 ford ) running inboard coilovers cantilevered. its pretty slick.
