i did mine this weekend and took some pics while in the process...hopefuly this will help those of u who were curious as to how this is done....

So this is how u reindex the torsion bars.

thread post photo

first loosen the two bolts that hold the torque plate to the control arm
thread post photo

now loosen the anchor bolt and remove it
thread post photo

after that, u want to remove the torsion bar....be sure to mark the bar and the torque plate before u remove it.
thread post photo

now push the bracket towards the floor pan a couple of splines
thread post photo

push the bar back into the torque plate(grease the splines) and tighten the anchor bolt back to the desired tension now tighten the torque plate and ur done.....

Why do you have to loosen the bolts on the control arm?

The only reason you would have to is if your bar is really stuck in there I took mine off cause they were really stuck in there and I did could not find my BFH

i loosened the bolts on the torque plate because it allowed me to drop the back of the bar to make it easier to remove...

one thing you might want to add is to mark the bar and the bracket on the lower control arm so to make sure you reindex both of them the same amout of teeth... just a little add on

When I did this I went 5 splines and have to admit it was too much. I think maybe 3 would be better. My front is so bouncy it makes me not want to drive the truck. But I keep tellin myself to wait until i bag it.

some one should do a spline shift to drop chart

like
3 splines = 2inch drop
