the splines dont change ur height, the tension on the bolt does.
also if you just hit end with hammer it will pull out torsion bar or end piece will come off, both have splines so you can reindex either end

hmm i see a big "how to lower your front end" coming ...so the combination of re-indexing and adjusting the torsion bolt is what does it? i assume you re-index so you can go lower and still have adjustment...forgive me... im used to the regular coil spring front ends of my astro and stang

thats the one, main reason to reindex is so they dont hang too low and catch on anything then get ripped off :d

Okay, i am trying to re-install torsion bars on a truck i bought where they were removed. I cannot figure out where to tighten the torsion key that everyone would use to lower/raise their truck... I see nowhere threaded on the crossmember or under the truck where the torsion bars would go that these things thread into!? anyone have pics or an idea what i should fricken to... how annoying. I already replaced shocks and i have to put my new 5 speed in to,but this is holding me back.
