11 degrees does seem extreme, but according to that like it should work just as good as i degree up. my pinon is down 7 right now, so either i go down 4 more degrees, or up 8 degrees, either way it seems like a lot. what i was gettin at is just to see if my math was right. if 11 degrees is to much what they need to tell you in that link is how much is to much. like pinon should not point more than 8 degrees up or down or whatever the most is, for people like me who is learning.

You don't have to be so concerned as to whats the right degree to have your pinion set at, theres no magic number. You have to be sure that the angles cancel each other out. All you are doing is "phasing" the u-joints.

one last question. is the operating angle the angle the u-joint has on it? so if i have a operating angle of -3 that would mean u-joint has 3 degrees on it? sorry for all the questions, i have a hard time doing something without fully understanding it.

thanks.

a 3 degree operating angle would be if you 'split' the angle down the center and would have 1.5 degrees on each side of the line.
