well why y'all gotta be like that. This whole thing is about helping people out. It's people like this that ren't willing to help someone out that is making the scene and the industry get a bad name. I know for a fact, that if I knew I would tell the world, to make it easier for everyone to do. BUt if your not teling because you don't know that's cool, but if he knows and hes not telling, that's fucked up.

man he said he was gonna find out. you must have posted that thing about people not helping out and not read this. dont get all butt hurt when people wont drop everything and cater to your needs. give someone time to find out some info.

the conversion was done probaly back in the mid 90's when those pictures were taken, he was one of the first people to have a set of 18's thats how old that picture is. we aren't the ones who did the conversion so and the owner of the truck didn't do it, it was the guy who did the work on it. the owner of it is absolutly sure its an areostar hub and rotor, so when we get it apart and figure out what size bearings and race are used and what year hubs and rotors they are then we'll post it up

just a thought here, but it is my understanding that you can use some of the rx-7 hubs on the front, they are direct bolt ons as far as mounting up to the spindle (no messing with bearings n such), but not sure what you would have to do as far as the brake caliper if it bolts on too, or if you would have to make a bracket.....on that same note, you might be able to just swap an rx-7 spindle in, and use your existing steering linkage, or do some swapping there & make it work....but with out knowing for sure, if you try either of these, you'll end up buying the parts at a junkyard, spending $100-200 on them, then need to "freshen up" the parts (new seals, rebuild calipers, bearings, etc) and end up spending another chunk on them. you would come out just as cheap to get laynrockers to do it, I have never heard of anyone getting his hubs & being dissappointed with the work....
now with that said, I am still curious to know wheather or not the aerostar or rx-7 hubs will work, and what it takes to get the modification done...

if i had the info to give out i would , i'm not trying or going to try and make a single dollar of it. BUT i should because some of you deserve no help at all. I have all the pics on my computer but i'm only home for a couple hrs before i fly out for ALL STAR, so they will not be posted tonight.
Until I have the parts in my hand and can spend the time reseachin all the part #s i will not give out any imformation...period. its not about notwanting to help , its about wanting to help and make sure its correct and safe.
I do not want to make money off minitruckers for 2 reasons . #1 there my friends and #2 there the cheapest SOBs around ...
anyone still want to bitch about me , then go ahead and piss me off more , see how much i'll want to help then

^^ Devin, what do you mean some of us don't deserve help? Isn't that what we are here for? I didn't mean no disrespect but you did tell me in the past back in 2005 that you were trying to put together a kit to sell. Heres the link to the streetsource thread, its the 11th post down the page you stated "I wasnt going to tell anyone cause i was going to put a kit together to sell"
not trying to call you out but thats what you told me.

I'd jus like to know what hubs they were, then i could go to work and fool with bearings and stuff to try to find a combo that works

Devin you to have a lot of knowledge and are another asset to the site. Its great to know that you are willing to pass the info on this swap when you get the part numbers. Alot of us here will benefit from it. Have fun at the All Star show .

I am looking forward to hearing from him about some part numbers. I just know there are ALOT of folks that try and keep secrets. Hopefully he won't be one of those.
