What has to be done to use a toyota axle??? Does the stock driveshaft bolt up??? Or do you HAVE to get the yota shaft matted on???

i'm sure it depends on which year yota axle, but i'm sure they're all going to need a different flange on the drive line to match up, and quite possibly a different length of your driveline because the 3rd member snout might be a different length. when i had mine done i had a slip yolk put in and just made a template of the toyota pinion flange and said 'make it like this' and they got it to me like 3 days later all done. new carrier bearing, slip yolk and the correct flange.

I know with hardbodys you can use the stock driveshaft, you jus have to make new holes or somethin, i know you dont have to get a driveshaft made. I guess we'll see. Thanks for the info man, i can see it now though, i'm gonna have to get a shaft made, jus cuz i'll have one more thing added to the list of shit i have to spend money on to bag my truck that no one will ever see or notice.....

Just get the toyota driveshaft flange put on the mazda driveshaft. The length is the same. (or at least really close)

I thought you couldnt take em off???

I measure today, i'm gettin one off of a 79, they have a 79 and an 81. So from the center of the axle to the edge of the yolk on the yota axle is 10 1/4, mazda is like 9 1/2 or something. And the holes for the flange on the toyota are 3 3/8" apart and the mazda is like 3 3/4" so i could weld the holes closed on the mazda flange and redrill holes couldnt i???

^^ then your driveline will be 3/4" too long, and likely donkey punch your transmission

But if i'm baggin it, 3/4" wouldn't make much differnce if i'm 4 linkin it right??? If it makes the wheel look really off, then i'll get the driveshaft matted together

to me having the wheel centered in the wheel well is HUGE. it just looks like you didn't know how to read the tape measure if its layed out and that shit's all off center.

or another way to look at it is your wheel will be 1.5" closer to the back of the fender opening versus the front of the opening... 1.5" is a lot considering the opening is what like 30"?

Dude do not try to redrill the holes. Just have the Toyota end welded on the Mazda driveshaft. Redrilling you risk throwing the shaft off balance.

Plus its only $50 to get it done.
