Can someone get the measurement to the center of the axle from the bed mounting points. I can go off of that.

Huh? the whole truck? NO. Just the driveshaft buddy.

beg to differ with ya boss, a good shop can balance it with it on the truck hooked up to the tranny & rear, if this is done it will effectively "tune" the whole driveline, if it isn't done, and you do just the driveshaft, you can still end up with vibrations in the driveline...that is why when you pull a drive shaft you mark the shaft & the tranny also the rear end to make sure it goes in the same way it came off, if not, & it is reinstalled in a different manner, you will end up with bad vibs.....

Well, I have had countless driveshafts balanced, and never once has it even been mentioned to have the entire truck. I have never had an issue with balancing the driveshaft. I would say overkill for sure.

well before i get it balanced I need to get my rearend bagged and everything welded into place. I'm having a budy of mine draw up a design and he keeps telling me to ask you guys for the measurement to the center of the axle...possibly from a bed mounting point, i can't measure mine because all i have is 2 framerails and everythings been cut off.

Do you still have the leaf springs? If so, measure the location on the spring of the axle, then use this to figure out where it would be on the frame.

Or like I think you said before, through the bed on and center the axle in the wheel well.

i don't have a measurement for you, but you can use logic to determine the center of your wheel openings (both sides, and perhaps hang a tight string from center point to center point) on your bed, and measure from your mounting points on the underside of your bed to the string going from side to side and record that measurement.
take that number and transfer it to your frame. that should help you out.
