I drive a 2600, the axle is not shorter. I already "test fitted" the wheels and they will not tuck, I am going to have to flare the bedside to make'em tuck, until I find a 4x4 bed at least. Maybe the 4x4 axle is different but not the 2WD. And about the tabs, they do not hold the wheel in place, it only aligns the holes....easier, the lug nuts hold the wheel in place, obviously. As for it not being safe, I have run too many aftermarket wheels over the years that didn't have correctly sized, (or should I say fitted??) centerbores. I do not believe they will tow your ride if you grind your tabs, because I dont remember seeing even one aftermarket wheel with the same bore as the original wheels. The bores are always larger on aftermarket wheels so they will fit more vehicles. There might be some very specific laws in certain states, but here in Texas not according to that. I know in Australia, it would be illegal to do anything to your ride, Canada...you tell us. As for low on horsepower...compared to what? The FI 2.6 pushes 121 hp "STOCK", which is more than the 2.0, 2.2, and the carb'd 2.6. And there are "things" you can do to make that number go up, without touching the internals or forcing induction... I did.

^^ ....You from Tx., just noticed that......4x4 body parts are the shiz...for wheel clearance.

i'm in canada an i've got 16" alloys on my B2200. the centers have a larger diameter than that of the hub tabs, so they don't touch the tabs at all. If you look real close in the pic, you might see the tabs.
My dad's a mechanic and he said it'd be no problem driving without the tabs touching the rim because the lugnuts are the acorn type, which means they have a taper on the inward side that seats into the rim and told the wheel from shifting on the hub.
As far a police, i've never been pulled over, and i'm not sure if they'd even notice. you could always get a cap that covers the hub and tabs so they wouldn't even be able to see them.

isnt 't that funny, I have always wondered what those wheels look like on one of "ours"... I have only seen them on 4x4 chevy's. (or would that be "chevies" ??) I am a mechanic by trade myself, so I would have to agree with your Dad. The only ones that I have seen that do not use acorn lugnuts were a while back and were specific to the racing seen where the wheels are fitted to the wheels studs and such, correct me if I'm wrong. As for the police, I wouldn't worry, I'm sure they usually have bigger fish to fry, like speeding tickets...

and yes, Texas is where it's at, hahaha!! and 4x4 sheetmetal is the schitt! (when you can find it)

here in the states cops don't care if you do or don't have stock or not, hub tabs or not, if they even look they will be looking for unsafe frame or body not wheels(if it rolls straight and don't wobble they don't care)...........I was a )

i ground my tabs, works fine, however you will need to buy special lug nuts to help center the wheel they are cone shaped lugs.
i like the color of your truck bro!!!!

They actually look alot better when they're polished up. I was up at my cottage when that pic was taken and it's all dirt roads, so they look real dirty. I got them off a friend for $150, polished them for $20, and got 225/60r16 summer performance tires for $350 (love getting parts at cost!). They do rub on the lip (barely) of the fender cause of the offset, but i'm going to get my dad's friend to machine the rear mating surface down 1/4 inch or so.

Here's what they looked like on my truck last fall. (truck at stock ride height.)

Hey mazda2guy, are you taling about my truck, cause i live in markham, ontario, canada and it sounds like your talking about Texas. But that's cool man, i've haven't seen an other Bs with the same rims, but they do look good. i'll check out your truck in the RIDES section.
