yeah, the shackles kinda have a narrow side on one end, and a wide side on the other....the leafs are the same width on both ends, so you could loose the mount on the rear of the frame that fits the shackle, and fab a mount like on the front of the leafs, weld it to the rear of the frame & bolt the leaf in directly....if you have a lot of suspension travel this might affect it since you would do away with the flexability the shackle affords, but if it's pretty well a fixed ride height, then it prolly wouldn't matter....as far as that goes (old school suspension mods) you could trim some out of the front mount & get another 1/2 - 3/4" drop there too.

well I had found some at a checker that looked pretty good, cam e urethaned bushing already so that was cool....but they measure like 3 14/"...maybe a tad more...5/16th maybe....I was lil disappointed cuz another 2" of drop woulda been cool....the thinner side measured perfect at 3" so I was pretty hopeful. I will be scouring the yard here one of these days cuz we all know I tear that place up.

Hell on my cavalier I found a cadillac rear tie bar that I managed to work into my spare tire well that REALLY tightened it up...I had the cav almost neutral in the steering dept...if you couldnt handle it right you could easily crash it. So when I sold it I made sure the new "owner" could handle the car....several people didnt get to buy the car as hoped and I got told off by alot cuz I wouldnt sell it to em. I wasnt about to be held responsible for some kid crashing on the way home with a modified car, ya know? I had a interior rear tie bar also in front of the rear seat, strut locks, strut bars, upgraded shocks, springs, etc....it rode great and turned on a dime. A very fun car to drive.

are you Ubolts tight? Have you driven it since adding em? If you got sway while shifting, you Ubolts loose and it will sway around.....did you move anything while putting those on?.....did the axle move anywhere?

did you take your time and measure, check, re measure and recheck everything BEFORE tightening up...or did you just tear out the old ones, throw the new stuff in and wrench back into place?

Thats why in the instructions it says leave a lil loose till you know you have everything back in proper place BEFORE tightening down

Is it torqued properly?

are you Ubolts tight? hand tight
Have you driven it since adding em? around the parking lot a few times now yeah
did you move anything while putting those on? the shackles had to back a bit since the leafs r a lil long
did the axle move anywhere? not that i know of

did you take your time and measure, check, re measure and recheck everything BEFORE tightening up...or did you just tear out the old ones, throw the new stuff in and wrench back into place?

Is it torqued properly? just hand tight for now..

dont get all bent outta shape....only asking, cant help if we dont know what all you did....and you have a habit of rushing is all and trying to break that habit.

When you drove it around did you shift the truck into another gear any?...if its swaying around....your Ubolts are loose. Being hand tight aint TORQUED. Now I am seeing from your pics that yes they have definitley moved back some...I dunno why yet and thats the issue to work on....but a part of me thinks it shifted while you were raising the axle back up

do you notice and binding or weird squealing or anything?
91b2200(cody)   +1y
no wierd noises at all.. i shifted from 1st to reverse i few times here and there.. bout it
korrupt1   +1y
well that wont tell you if you got sway or not....you need to be somewhat moving forward and shifting into like 2nd or something...you will notice it for sure...especially at like a freeway speed (I know...you aint got license yet, so you cant).

lemme run to store...and think about it...or maybe you found answer if anybody on chat or something...Im not cuz dealing with another issue with another friend...so I am bouncing back and forth. LOL!

Like a damn ping pong ball!

i've done a lot of leafs in my time... let me tell you it's not the u-bolts, it's not anything like that... the leaf have a front and rear... look to see which way is front.... you probably have them backwards .... common problem...

no friggin way... are you kidding me..
