I read on a guys listing to sell his mazda that he had a B2600 axle in a b2200 truck. . Made me wonder, are they different? ? ? And are the b2600 axles better? ? Because I have one that is waiting to get scrapped and now I have a daily b2200. . If the b2600i axles are better, I will swap them and scrap the b2200 axle. . Thanks for any info. .

I think it goes like this.... the 2600 axle itself is strong as hell, but the guts are weak sauce, so I guess take that info how you want.

there are both open axle the differience is the b22 has a 3.9 ratio and the b26 i think it has a 4.1 or .4.4 ratio in it

So that would really make it feel like I have less power right? ? ?

LOL, probably (less power). The higher numbered gearing would mean the engine turns more RPMs for every revolution of the tire. If you were wanting to run say a 27" or 28" OD tire (stock is 26" OD) but didn't want to strain your motor, then this would be a good swap. If you were running small tires then this would be a BAD swap as your motor would be running 4,000 rpm on the interstate.

Oh ya. Thanks Linn. Ya, since mytires are 25 incheas tall, I guesss I won't be swappin axles.

if u went with lower gears (numerically higher) you'd be giving youself essentially more torque. you would b able to tow more, climb hills better, accelerate faster, do burnouts easier, but as mentioned^ at highway speed you'd be turning really high rpm's

ok cool, thanks for the info. . Ya I do quite a bit at 70+ so I dont need this. . Not when I have a 25" tire. . haha
