I'm sure the 2600 2wd rear ends will be the same as the 2200s, it's the 4x4s that I thinkmay possibly have the lower gearing. Either way, they're both open diffs.

I have a feeling the 4x4 rear ends will have different gearing because when I put 235/75/15s on my 2200, it bogged it down bad.

The b2600i rearend is a bit narrower than the b2200 rearend. Its the same axle as what came in some of the rx7's in the 80s, so you could swap the rx7 differential in and have limited slip. Also from what Ive read the 94 and up miata differentials will swap in and have limited slip also. Theres a website about miatas that Ive found before with all this info, gear ratios, and what swaps in but I cant seem to find it right now.

Heres the site, lots of info, idk if its any help but its something to think about I guess.

Heres the list of ratios too.

Would the whole rear end form the b2600i fit on the b2200?

Yes, the whole rear will fit. All the rears are the same width from 86 to 93(+/- 1/4 inch or so).
You will need to swap the 2200 flange onto the 2600 rear in order to bolt up the drive shaft.
