Well today i went to Canadian tire and grabbed a Master craft Impact driver that accepted screwdriver bits and the two screws that were stripped to hell came out in seconds. It was even on sale for $99 to $59.
Saved me a lot of grief!

got the new shoes/springs/hardware in as well

thanks for the input guys

skarpin, where in sask are you?

I'm in Regina.

I've got a similar question too:

Front brake discs. Do they separate from the hub, or are they one piece? If they separate... how?

The rotors separate from the hub.
1) remove two bolts holding caliper to spindle.
2) tie caliper out of the way
3) remove grease cover
4) remove cotter pin, lock nut and disk assembly from spindle
5) turn rotor over and remove the 5 or 6 bolts holding the disc onto the hub.

The two philips screws holding the drum on the rear axel suck. I wound up drilling mine out about eight years ago. I never replaced them. I think they were only there to hold the drum during the assembly line process. Most cars don't even have them. Their drums are held on by the wheel studs.

Excellent. Thanks! I figured as much. Mine are just seized like there is no tomorrow. I've taken them off the spindles, but can't separate the disc from the hub now. Guess it's torch time.

OK so i installed new shoes/springs and hardware
i also had my drums machined

now the drums wont go over the damn shoes. the inner adjuster is tightened all the way in and it seams the pistons are pushed all the way in. My drums still wont fit. Should i crack the bleed screws and try to depress the pistons in fully?

Pics would help. But did you verify that the brake kit you got is the right one? I have had problems before where the parts guy gave me the wrong shoes. Also, I think the kit has two different shoes, one for the front and one for the back. Are you sure you placed them properly? (forgive me it has been several years since I did this on my truck and can't remember what all the parts were that I changed) again pics would help...lol

I don't think they are installed incorrectly but i will snap some pictures soon

Damn still haven't figured this out

i have spun the adjuster screw on the threaded shaft back enough so it can slide in all the way and is not
restricting the shoes from coming closer together. I cant see there is anything wrong with what i have done and my drums still wont fit over.

Should i crack the bleed screws and try to depress the pistons in all the way?

Did you check and see if the wheel cylinder can be pushed in more? Looks like the rods are sticking out some
