what??? your truck didn't have leaf springs? what did it have?

So let me get this straight...........on our last truck the axle was not attached to the springs? What held the axle in place then? It just floated in space?

No. in the first truck the axle and leaf springs were just held together by the U-bolts. In this truck they were held together by U-bolts AND a bolt running from the middle of the leaf springs into the axle. The first truck didnt have this.

WoW! Don't work on anything again please until you have a full or at least partial understanding of how it is going to work. We don't need a new thread titled "How I lost my hand" . No offense Bro, but you don't make sense when you write and you are wrong about the bolt holding the spring pack together. If your last truck didn't have one you would be wrapped up in the rear or mono leafed and sloppy. Either way you would not be in good shape. I am usually one to encourage others to try to do it themselves, but you scare me.

wow, this is messed up, that bolt that hold the leafs together needs to be there, so the sits in its proper location, if its not in the right spot your axle can shift and mess a few things up, im glad its fixed and happy no one got hurt

rule of thumb: always support the truck by its frame
