2link omg but wait.

Ok i've got this idea. i want to 2 link my rear. Im not going to bag it however im going to run either air shocks or coilovers not sure yet which. ill be doing the same up from and removing the torions (obviously beefing up the mounting locations).
Now my question is when making the 2link whats the best way to prevent the axle from walking side to side?

the easiest way is to use a track bar. A bar that attaches from the axle housing parallel to the frame.

You could do a watts link too


But if your going to go through the trouble of setting that up I don't know why you wouldn't just do a 3 or 4 link.

a watts looks cool and very functional. a triangulated 4 link would be a nice way to go

alot less welding and cutting, Also it would be not needed for my application. i can use the factory front spring mount, and ubolt right to the axle done. probably use a 2x2 bar

what about a bar between the 2 links?? like a u shape?

yeah the "u" setup works great had it in my truck before i went with a trianguated 3 link....much better now lol

how well would air shocks hold a truck up man??? i mean they only have 110psi and there is not much room in them for air

There were a lot of trucks in the early days that had air shocks all the way around. (mine for example) However air shocks are not intended to totally suport the vehicle. You need to retain your torsion bars in the front and re-index them so the truck just kisses the ground, then the air shocks can add enough lift to make it raise back up to drive. The rear I would leave on the main leaf with a three inch block and air shocks. That is an old school way to lay the truck out. Just save your money and bag the truck correctly. There is a reason we stopped running the air shock set up.

Actually the old air shocks where jsut that air charged shocks. The new version is designed to replace the spring and the shock. works the same as a coil over shock, Most Moonbuggie rock crawlers run them now days.

Those shocks are sick. I would love to see someone run these rather than bags. They are a little pricy though at $270 a pop.
