Thanks guys, well I figured it out here is what happened........
Last week after dropping the rear of my truck my son laughed, and told me the Mexicans would be clapping me down the street if I drove my truck out.
The front was slightly raised in proportion to the rear.
So today I raise the truck up the the front. Got up under it, and started with the drivers side first. I got the impact gun and tried to take the bolt out............no luck.
So I tried the passenger side just to be sure I was doing it right. Well it buzzed right out.
So I get the breaker bar out and again attempt to get the bolt on the drivers side torsion out....{I think you all can see where this is going}.
The bolt would barely move. So, not wanting to break the bolt I got my torch out. I heated the adjuster to a cherry red. Success the bolt would now move. I then turned around so that I could heat the other side of the adjuster. It was then that I noticed the neat row of 5, two gallon plastic gas tanks, all full.
After moving the gas tanks to a safe location, the stupid bolt stuck again. So I reheated the adjuster, the bolt turned again then.........................POW!
Something hit my hand and it immediately went numb, not good. The bolt had broken. The torsion arm had hit my hand since it was still under load when the bolt went awol.
I pulled off my glove and inspected my hand. I could still move everything, although its gonna be a pretty shade of blue tomorrow. So now I went to work on drilling out the broken bolt......yeah right.
After three hours of drilling and changing drill bits, and heating the adjuster I was about to give up.
I finally got the idea to cut the adjuster down its length on both sides. This worked. The #$%$@$#@ bolt finally came out. I then took the broken part of the bolt that had came out first and put it into the halved adjuster.
I then clamped the adjuster with the bolt together and welded it solid again.
Now I don't have too many metric bolts in my arsenal so I found a 7/16 hardened bolt and tapped the adjuster and went back up under the truck and got everything back together.
Now the truck looks right, so I can get a better look on what tires to get when my 18" Nissan wheels get in.
Boy what a day.
