looks pretty good. possible only one side got the torsion splined?
addiktion   +1y
i was kinda thinking about that, maybe whoever had it before me for some f'd up reason only re-indexed one side....????
toddluck   +1y
Or didnt reindex them the same

But reindexing them doesn't move the t-bolt up or down, and that appears to be the problem. Like I said before, just looks as if someone didn't turn it the right way.

ok so overall somethin is screwy right? how can i know if they have been re-indexed? im really tempted to just rip them out and start from scratch. how do i go about finding the stock spline setting and all that shit so i can actually start from scratch?? is measuring from the tip of the anchor arm to the crossmember 125mm, then tightening the anchor bolt until the anchor arm contacts the anchor bolt swivel, then tightening an additional 45mm (as said in the haynes manual) creating stock height saying the splines are set where they should be? also does measuring from the tip of the anchor arm to the crossmember suggest an accurate leveling point?

ok ive done some reading and shit so my next question is... can i re-index too much??

basically, yes. torsions only work if there is tension on them (lifting truck in addition to being a spring). index them enough and it does neither.

when doing mine one of the torsions popped out after unbolting it so I couldn't properly reindex the same number of splines. the truck is basically level but I probably have 1/2 - 1 inch difference in threads showing. don't really care since both are still above the frame.

so weather permitting im gettin back under "addiktion" tomorrow... my plan is to loosen the bolts to a point that im able to turn the "T-bolts" that are in the crossmember to see if they are sitting in their grooves correctly. once ive put them both back in the grooves correctly (if i need to), how can i tell if the splines have been tampered with? is it a measurement from the tip of the anchor arm to the crossmember? and if so, what would the stock measurement be? id rather not re-index if i dont need to, my exhaust is the lowest point on my truck and the anchor arms where they sit right now do not sit lower than my exhaust.

so ive turned this bolt enough times to be getting pissed off wondering why it hasnt come out yet lol. the anchor arm is barely resting on the bolt if any, i can actually move the whole bar up down and side to side so there really isnt a whole lot holdin it up. my haynes manual says from the tip of the arm to the crossmember should measure 4.92", mine is only measuring at about 3". does this suggest that it has been re-indexed?
