Ok when I bought this truck a couple weeks ago, the drivers door lock did not work. All the parts were there except the tab that you use to lock/unlock from the inside. I took the panel off and found that whole tab/rod piece in the bottom of the door. The lock cylinder has a rod and the tab/rod all connect to what I'm guessing is the actual lock mechanism. Well I tried locking it by reaching in and it worked, but to unlock it you have to crawl in from the passenger side. Now the lock is stuck locked. Can't get out or in from the drivers door. Anyone ever have this happen? Sorry for the long post, was venting a little too I guess this is a good excuse to shave them thar handles, huh?

if you left the interior panel off you should be able to reachin and pull the release mechanisim to open the door . You'll have to get another mechanism for the door if you don't shave the locks

shave them and get a good system to pop the doors. AVS has one of the best systems out there

i have an autoloc setup. 15lb solenoids. been working fine for about the past month now...
not sure who AVS is either?

autoloc was pretty crappy for us, we burned through a couple solenoids. now i think we have SPAL 40 or 45 lb, and they work money!

Yeah I thought I would be able to unlock it as well but no dice. Gonna be almost a month though until I can fix it due to all the cash it took to relocate here. Was hoping to find a cheap fix. Oh well, thanks guys.

Hey did you ever find a fix for your lock problem? I am having similar issue, the tab you pull up on to unlock the door will go up but falls down when you let go and won't release the lock so I can't open the f*&(*&) door. This happened after installing chrome door handles. Any ideas other than shaving?

sounds to me its just the little tab thingy came off the lock mechanism itself inside the door. and to people doing shaved door handles make sure your lock mechanism is not in the "locked" position because when you push the remote button it might try to pop the door open but technically the door is locked so it wont open. I know most people would make sure of this but some people out there have done this. LOL

haha i have a problem with my DS lock too. it can lock it from the inside because the tumbler is messed up but when i close the door it pops up and wont stay locked!
