shaveing the rear end?

hey im wondering what would be cheapest look best and be easiest, i do not have a tail gate at the moment thats y im wondering would i be better to do a cali combo or get a tail gate and weld it shut? i met a guy that had a mazda with caddy tails a roll pan and it had the indented mazda in the tail gate and it was welded shut looked really kool just wondeirng if anyone has any information,prices and pictures.

welding a tailgate shut would be work as well as a cali combo, but welding a tailgate shut would be more difficult cause ud have to cut some sheet metal and slide it in the gaps and weld away as in the skin for already be pre-fitted to the bed so u could just line it up and tack,tack,tack

whatever kinda look ur going for basically im gonna weld mine shut just to keep that old school clean retro look;)

im thinking of getting one of the indented tail gates and welding it ive seen calis can be kinda pricey at $180 usd plus shipping when i can get the sheet metal,tailgate and make a roll pan all together for for about $120 cdn with out any shipping in there

Yea, i welded my tailgate shut b/c i wanted to keep the Mazda in the tailgate, its not really that hard..

you also need to put some braces on the inside so that if the bed flexs any it dont crack the welds

MazdawgyDawg i only have pics from like a year ago but here's what it looked like the week after i started on it.

heres it in november but u can barley see it there the only pics i got right now.

Remember everything was hand fabbed from the license plate box to the rollpan.

i just welded mine. and made my own roll pan, licence plate box, tail light fillers. its easy.
