Do a search on the site someone posted a full article a while ago how to do it, it has pics along with it, I believe the guy did it on a VW with red paint it looked good in the pics. I know some stuff but not enough to tell you confidently.

Do you want them black or red? If black, VHT makes a product called Nightshades. Works well but its illegal. If you want them red, go to Wal-Mart and by TRANSPARENT Candy Apple Red made by Testors in the model paint section. Clean your tail light with soap and water, scuff with a scuff pad, mask off whatever you dont want to paint (backup light) and get to laying some paint. Be careful, its thin and runs easy. Then clear. Same way with the VHT stuff. Ive done both.

I like the "all red" look. So are you painting them from the outside? or inside? I'd think it'd be cool to have the back up light a lil "pinkish" as well like alot ot the newer cars, think that's possible with the same red paint, just not as many coats or something?

here are my tails. i used the candy red paint from walmart that roach is talking about and i got some trans black from a hoby store for the reverse lights. works well, just take your time and do thin layers, cuz it runs easy.
