I went out this afternoon and spent just under $200 Cdn on supplies, primer & sealer so I can get the majority of the bodywork done on my truck and a layer of primer on it by the end of this 4 day weekend.

My driver's side door has been annoying me since I bought the truck, with some rusy scabs that someone tried spray painting over before and made look like total ass. There are some small dents in the door and the cab to pop out,and just minor surface rust scabs and spots all around the body. Otherwise,it's straight and clean, and the hardest parts to tackle are infront of and behind the fenders on the bottom of the bed,as they are both pretty rusted and have started to deform. I'll have to grind that all out and reshape and fill it and hope the rust doesn't come back.

I'm just throwing a coat of primer on the truck at this stage so I can have all the rust taken care of,and this at the same time will give me a chance to come up with an idea of what colours I want to use in my final paint scheme. I also am planning on a roll pan with LED tails and tail light fillers, so I don't want to paint the truck now, then do all that bodywork and have to repaint the rear end. Because it'll just be primer for now it'll be alright, because I plan no other major body mods. Everything will be bolt on. OEM chrome bumper, grille & mirrors, stock rims,4" static drop, clear corners & bumper lights, roll pan with LEDs,tail fillers, spray in bed liner, and THEN I can start on the interior!

I figure since I had my engine rebuilt,I may as well go ahead and do everything I wanted to do to the truck, because now in my eyes, with the new heart,I may as well make it look good, and it will all cost me less than the price of a new truck, less to insure, run and maintain than a new truck, and be cooler than any new truck.

So tomorrow morning, the fun begind and I have 3 days ahead of me to mke the body look pretty and get some primer on it.

Possibilites for paint schemes are:
- Flat black, red & white old school pinstriping, paint the stock rims red, chrome lugs & centre caps and white stripe tires. (I already have white stripe tires, but the white stripe is turned to the inside)
- metallic silver & bright metallic blue (silver on the bottom half, blue from the bodyline below the window to the top of the roof. Chrome rims.
- silver & black metallic. Black in the spot where the blue would be. Chrome rims.
- same stock charcoal grey colour, monotone. Black rims.

If you go with the metalic silver, use the HOK Orion Silver with the regular flake, not the small. The # is BC02

Mad,I'll be taking pics in progress. For now, here's what I'm starting with. Only mods are a tonneau cover, tinted windows,Silverstar headlights and a half decent stereo.

sweet roach, that's the way I want to do a 2-tone job.! I might even like to do the same stock colour again and use it in a 2 tone scheme, that way I don't have to change the colour on my registration, lol.
