miked,spraying is easy,I used to be a painter at a custom shop I used to work for. I used to paint roll cages,strut bars,motorcycle fairings,occasional body parts and stuff. Prep is the killer. That's what makes bodywork so time consuming,the actual painting is the quick part.
tornado,as for wheels and stuff,I'm planning a chrome OEM front bumper & grille,or the chrome grille shell with the billet insert,a set of stock chrome rims if I can find some,otherwise I'm gonna roll stock wheels. Dunno what it is about them,but I like them for some reason. I'm planning on doing either a rollpan/tailgate combo or stock tailgate and a roll pan with LED tails and tail light fillers for a smooth look on the back with the chrome gate handle for some bling. I want to keep the truck clean and subtle,and do a simple 2 tone paintjob eventually.
I'm picking up a '92 B2200 identical to mine for $500 in good shape,cuz the guy chased me down today and asked me if I'd sell him my truck,lo. I was like no way,I just bought thing! I took a closer look at his and saw it had a grey interior with buckets,new bumper,15" rims,small mirrors and a bunch of good useable parts and I was like 'so how much do you want for yours?' and he was like 'hmmm....how about $1000 with the stereo' as he points to a box with two 10s in it and a huge amp. I was like 'well I don't want that,so how much without?" and he was like 'I dunno,$500?" He's either gonna trade me straight up for my '95 Ford Contour,or I'll pay cash for the truck. He wants to get rid of the truck because he has a baby and when I told him 'Contour' and '4 door sedan' his eyes kinda lit up,so I'll have myself another 'dawg shortly.
