ok guys i'm looking at ordering parts as i sit over here in Asscrackistan. one of those parts is the ever famous billet grill, but i read that the JBM grills are plastic and they have two thick ass bars at the top and at the bottom that just does not look right to me when i'm comparing other billet grills. not to knock on your truck down2earthdawg but i this is the style that JBM sells from what i've been told and the pic shows what i'm talking about.

**Take Note: by no means am i downing down2earthdawg's truck. it's a sick truck, but the grill just ain't my cup of tea**

the look i'm going for is the AZ render truck with the smooth billet from top to the bottom. as seen here. notice no thick bars. nice and smooth transition from top to bottom.

so after all that is there a company out there that makes a real billet grill for the b2k's that has a smooth transition or will i need to make a toyota one fit? if i do have to go the toyota route how hard would it be?

Are you specifically wanting a phantom grille? I've seen there's a billet one where it uses the stock chrome grill shell, but where the grille slats would be,it's just billet bars. Looks quite nice,I can't decide between that or stock chrome for mine.

yes i'm looking looking for a phatom grill but i want it to look like this

notice the difference from that truck's grill from down2earthdawg's grill?

ASSCRACKISTAN....LMAO!

ON THAT PIC THE TWO THICK BARS ARE PROBABLY ACTUALLY THE FACTORY, OR WHATS LEFT OF IT.....THE BILLET INSERT FOR THE PHANTOM IS WHAT IS INBETWEEN THOSE TWO PIECES.

that's the info i was looking for. so to make it completely billet it'll have to be a custom phatom grill. so the next question is....the toyota phatom grill grill, could it fit without having any major gaps along the top, bottom, or sides or will i need to add metal to the body to get the same look as the render above?

thats hard to say, would need measurements from both the mazda grille (not the insert), & the yota insert, if the yota is taller & as wide it could be made to fit, you would just have to trim back the top & bottom thick plastic parts of the grill....only thing is, that could make the grill shell weak with the loss of the rigid structure......could be done tho

Would you keep the side markers or shave them?
nytrdr24   +1y
if it were me & i wanted a phantom, yeah i'd shave the marker lites, have or make or modify a grille that would mount in place w/o the grille shell, that would be much stronger than with the shell, not to mention look cleaner aswell.

yes i will be shaving the markers and the shell will be ditched. do they make a grill that dose not use the shell or will i need to modify one? if so which grill would most likely work?
