Just snooping around and seeing what my options are? So what bulb is everyone running?

Whether it is an H4 in a Diamond Cut Housing, Silverstar bulbs, PIAA bulbs, etc...

And what is the best watt range to run on the stock charging system? Example: 100W/90W Low Beam/High Beam

Thanks!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Bosch Headlight Conversion = $100 (Canadian Tire)
(Threw the bulbs out(Have silverstars too))
Raybrig White Thunder Bulbs 130/120w = $90

Now, My suggestion to you is to NOT buy these type of bulbs. Yes, they are bright as all hell, and people flash me all the time, but i did not think they would be so blue. theyre rated at 5000kelvin. I was driving home from minnesota in a mild snowstorm this winter....and my god do they ever reflect off of the snow.

i would suggest to you buying some high output lights (like mine) however get the white ones. youll be much happier.

bottom line..tinted bulbs = no.

has some good highperformance bulbs, thats where i got the 'brigs from. im interested in trying some snowmobile bulbs...there are some rated at like 120w or something, but totally clear..you can get them at canadian tire n stores like that too.

So what bulbs exactly on this site would you reccomend? And where can a guy get the Bosch Headlight Conversion in the States?

Thanks!

try autozone or somewhere like that.

i would recommend something in the 3500kelvin range.

the koito whitebeams seem like a pretty good deal.

plus theyre DOT approved(legal).

What exactly is so GREAT about the Bosch Headlight Conversion? I have yet to see someone that can give a detailed advantage to this housing for the price that it is?

Thanks!

I figured i would buy Bosch because they are a proven name. They have been around for quite a while, and if they were building shitty stuff they wouldnt be around for this long. I see the price as realistic for these housings..OK, so maybe they could be a bit cheaper..but there was a vast improvement even with the 55w orsam lights over stock.

as always, you get what you pay for.

So you didn't like the first Bulbs you swapped in becasue they were TOO bright on the snow and other places....Correct?

But all in all they did work good, and lit up the road quite well? Just a pain in the rear being flashed all the time and then the major reflection off the contrasting snow?

You think that these bulbs you have reccomended would perform the same or close to in like.....lets say a standard Diamond Cut H4 Housing???

Thanks!

No, I didnt like the original bulbs that came with the conversion (orsam 55w) so i switched to silverstars(made by orsam too..same wattage..less bright because of the blue tint...i wish i wouldve known this earlier...stupid me).

I still have silverstars as spares, but now i have the Raybrig white thunders in. I get flashed a bit more often then i did my silverstars, but they are much more blue, and brighter. they almost look like HID.

another thing with the blue is that they are BRUTAL in rain. normally the light would light up the road well, but with rain its a bitch to see.

Its all a personal preference, If i could do it all over i would have enough for the Bosch conversion and an HID kit. Lol..

I think I found a set of the Bosch? Check the link:

Granted they are for a Toyota Supra, but the housing is just a rectangle H4 just like the Mazda has!

Are these what everyone is having such great luck with? I just dont see what makes them so much better than a Crystal Clear Diamond Cut or any other Clear style H4 housing....if you put a decent set of bulbs like the above mentioned! It just doesn't make sense to me?

Thanks!

I would love to due a true HID Conversion, but it seems hard finding someone with good quality and right price?

I almost went with FBI and the H4 HID Conversion Kit they sell:

But, then there is the price!

Thanks!
