i run silverstars in my car, and i will run the new version of them in my truck when the new lights get put in.

i also have hella optilux purples and blues(which arent road legal)

the blues are bright as hell , and i had to take them out, the color output was the same as my buddies acura TL stock HID's but not as bright.

the bosch h4 conversion is weak. there are still lots of lines on the glass, we sell them at my wharehouse

this is what i got to put in mine, don't know how well they will work tho....the lamps are 60w/55w, now where in the range of a 130w, but
should be brighter than the stock sealed beam lamps.....

Ok,In my Mazda I ran stock, and then remembered I had an old set of Silverstar sealed beams from my Toyota. I threw them in,and they were great, until both the low beams burned out and left me only with high beams, lol.

I'm planning to go with H4 diamoned clear housings with Silverstar bulbs.

In my Rodeo right now,I run 9004 Silverstars, which are absolutely fantastic. I also have a set of amber fog lights with an H3 bulb, but I replaced the stock H3 with a Xenon blue H3 55w bulb, and it's kind of a bluey/greeny/yellow light, but paired with the Silverstars at night,my god,the visibility is incredible. Even in snow, rain and fog,is like driving on a sunny summer day.

For a cheap budget without breaking the bank and having fantastic lighting, it's Silverstars all the way man. I swear by these lights. I have not owned a vehicle that I haven't put them in.

BTW,I found nothing wrong at all with my stock sealed beams on the Mazda.

I know about the Silverstars, because I run them in my Subaru and in my g/f Golf! They are great bulbs, but I was just looking for something different!

I have run damn near every bulb on the market....from the most expensive raybrigs to the optilux bulbs....even the nighthawks and the regular hella's and bosch bulbs....

it really depends what you want from your lights....for all weather driving you want either a completely clear bulb( ie NOT DYED ) or a bulb with and all weather coating, which appears slightly yellow blue in tinge( it will cast a yellower light but will be much better in the rain and snow, and will reduce glare considerably.

The BLUE DYED BULBS, dramatically reduce the light ouput and that is why you see 75/100 bulbs and the like. They produce a cooler colour, but they need extra power to compensate for the loss of light due to the filtered bulb.

Piaa's are overpriced, and do not come even close to their claims of light output that exceeds the bulbs ratings....the optilux bulbs that are slightly dyed purple are decent for the money, as are the silverstars. The nighthawks are useless pieces of garbage. Regular Bosch bulbs are about the best regular bulb AND CAN BE HAD IN THE REGUALR WATTAGE AS WELL AS 80/100 AND 90/130(damn capps lock.

If you want brighter bulb with no filtered lense than the PHILIPS vision plus bulbs are good, as well as the PHILIPS GT150 if you want a slightly blue tinge.

the silvertars were and are a good allaround bulb but if you can find them, I think the best right now are the silveratar ultras.

and theres my 2 cents.

Yes. The Bosch conversion is quite weak. Don't buy it because there is absolutely no improvement over stock lighting.

Prove this. Lets do a side by side comparison. The "lines" are there for a reason. They spread the light so you can see .

Facts are nothing without proof. I love my Bosch conversion.
