Has anyone done this before, know of anyone who has? This truck is beautiful haha, but I was thinkin if i wanted to mould my bed to the cab, i would cut off the end of the bed behind the cab and weld in fillers or pieces from off another "junk" bed or something? would I have to do something other to support the body/bed, and/or is more ride quality lost? My truck is no "hauler" anymore so I dont need the bed for that haha

i was thinking of doing this as i have my old bed that i could rob part of to mold it together, don't know if i'd cut the front off of the bed, use it as something to go off of to make some extra support as you will deff. need to tie the bed & cab together structuarly <sp> if not the first time the frame flexes, you'll end up with a wrinkled up truck......

just a little tip.

ride in the back of a pickup and look at the back of the cab compared to the front of the bed, observe how much it flexes. theres a reason they didnt mold the cab and bed together from the factory...

He is definatly hiding cracks or wrinkles with those monkeys.

If your truck is a daily driver I wouldn't do it. If its a full time trailored show truck then go for it. The first dip or hard turn you make will leave the work in ruins. You can try and reinforce the cab and bed, but you would need to reinforce the entire bed and a good portion of the cab. Its going to add a lot of weight. If you just reinforce the area of the cab and bed where they meet it might keep it from cracking. The problem after that is where ever your reinforcing stops if where the wrinkles will start to form.

very nice point, you can also think about people who weld skins in they almost always crack, sure you can brace the hell out of it and try to prevent but at some point in the future it will crack.

^^ I agree, its not worth trying to reinforce it, i want to drive it all the time!

there was a killer reg cab short box s-10 unibody in truckin' a number of years back.
i think it would be alot easier with a shorter truck.
