Get some 1157 LED bulbs. They are clear until they light up. And they are a lot brighter than the red bulbs.

led bulbs are the shitt. sometimes they mess up your flasher tho, and you have to replace every bulb with led ones and get and led flasher. just cost me about $300 on my car <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" />

but damn they look sweet.

Dont use cheapo LED bulbs...they are shit...if you want to do it right PM me I will either make a set of panel mounted LED's or help you build your own... and they will be much much brighter and black or white when they are off.

my lights are fine the way they are. i put in Pyle 1157 LED brake lights and they were completely useless. Couldn't see them even when the brakes were on,plus they were so small.

I have amber 1156s and am supposed to have some red 1157s coming in,but the red covers on the bulbs work fine for now and they're definetly red. If you don't think they light up red, then you're colour blind,or just blind.

It's not that they dont light up red...its that they are not bright enough during the day...I have run clear on a few vehicles, and not one of them had bright enough bulbs to make them safe. I made LED panels that were as bright if not brighter than stock for all of them...Plus you can do neat things like integrate full lenght turn signals, and full length backup lights into them too...to make it all the more noticeable.

Mine are more noticable in the day now, especially since I painted the housings black. I have other things to spend my money on right now other than hundreds of dollars in LEDs.
