painting problem

Did you paint over the bare metal? You should have used some sort of etch primer which will etch into the metal and stick to it good. That should have been used only on the bare metal. Then it would be sanded smooth then your paint would go on.

i think that is the problem bro. that seems to be what everyone keeps saying. i will sand these back down again tomorrow and pick up some of this so called etch primer and give it a shot. haha. thanks for the help guys.

oh yeh primer is a must. and i usually do atleast 400 after primer but before paint.

from what I have read etch is not needed with small patches of metal. It would not hurt though but it still looks like you did not get all the dirt off. Did you by any chance touch those panels with your bare hands after you wiped them down but before you painted them.
