this'll be my first time doin anything with metal. i was never really smart enuff and didn't wanna screw anything up but since i'm broke it wont make much difference.

takin the 2600 bubble hood (its pretty bad) and cuttin out filler panels for my gas flap and doorhandles. aint got the money to buy panels so im gonna cut out a couple and try 'em out. cut 'em grind 'em, shape 'em. if i git 'em good i'll give away the extras to whoever wants 'em.

well this is really the way it was done before companies started sellin fillers huh?

i'll let ya'll know how it turns out

So your using a old busted hood for spare sheet metal. Is the bubble any good. If so then I would cut it out and keep it might be able to weld it to a 2200 hood one day. As for taking metal from the hood for fillers thats not cheap thats smart. I cut some metal out of a old bug for the same thing.

hopefully i can git some practice with this and then use it on my caprices too. gotta put lumina Z34 vents in its hood and have some spare metal to fill things on it.

the bubble got 2 holes. i got really p.o'd one nite and threw a wrench. didn't see the hood sittin there and it busted clean thru the hood. oh well. next time i'll just aim for a ford instead.

WOW!!! the door fillers look AWESOME! to me atleast hahaha.

wasn't too good with cuttin the blanks outta the hood, they ended up kinda crooked and shnit. but they were big enuff i just fired up grandpa's grinder and shaped 'em. the gas door is a lil off but i think it will be alright. may cut anothern out and try again. if it wasn't stormin i'd get y'all some pcitres. maybe if i git a break in the storm i'll go git some.

oh yeah, last sunday i helpd my friend dig a hole for his sistern. he's puttin a sink in his garage and usin rain water to fill it. i thought we was just gonna dig a hole HAHAHAHAHA 5x5x5 feet!!! wow that was a job. but hes repayin me by teachin me to weld and helpin shave my truck. it was worth it.

hopefully in 2 weeks the truck will be shaved and all the lil holes filled. i can't wait!!!

im not bein an asshole, people always seem to think i am, but i'd try again on the door filler, for example, the top left corner needs some work, roundin it out a lil more, and it looks like the bottom edge is gonna have a big gap.

How'd you cut em out to begin with?? Make a cardboard template, then trace it to the metal, cardboard is easier and cheaper to cut than metal!!!
