lumber rack question.......yes lumber rack

this is probably the first time the words lumnber rack have been used on these forums, lol, but i needed some help. right now my 2wd 2600i is a work truck and i need help installing a lumber rack. the problem is i have a plastic bed liner that goes over the bed rail and i need to put the lumber rack under it. the thing is i can't used nuts and bolts unless i take the bed liner out and i really don't want to drill holes in my bedliner or bed anyway. is there anyother way i can do this?

you are either gonna have to notch the liner around the upright bars or make brackets to go around the liner which is highly unlikely.

or you could run the vertical bars down inside the box and bolt them to the rope tie downs that are in each corner. just un-blot the tie downs and you will have a threaded area of the bed to attach them to in each corner. and the lumber / lumber racks weight will help keep it in one place. maybe also join each corner vertical bar to the other to help transfer the weight shifts and such. kinda like the idea of a strut tower brace evening the load transfer.

if you wanna see a pic of the tie downs. search project money pit on the site and look at the top of page 8 and youll see the tie down near the tail gate that can be un- bolted when you take out your tail light.
