standard vs extra cab bed??

i know the wheel well is further back on a standard cab bed but will it bolt directly to an extra cab frame??

completely different and not compatible without some fab work.

you know thats a good question......i wonder if the bed mounts align. thats something to look into. maybe if someone has a standard cab bed lying around they can take some measurements of their bed mounts off of it.

i know the beds are only like an inch different in length so i would think at least the front and rear holes might be the same, i could see the middle ones being different due to axle location

when I cut my standard cab short bed down, I bolted down the ones in front and behind the axle. so I have 4 bed bolts that line up perfect

so you have a shorty bed the and the rear of the rails are gone

yeah I cut off about 3 inches of frame

so really,it's pretty much a bolt on swap? you really only need 4 bolts holding it down,and cutting off 3" off the frame is nothing.

This should start being a more popular mod if it's that simple. I'd do it.

im looking more at putting the whole bed on and pushin the axle back to be centered in the bed not make a shorty

that would look sick. i like the idea of putting a long bed on the ex cab too.
