bodydrop cab mounts

I want pics of cab mounts after they have been rewelded after a bodydrop. . thanks

I've never BD a mazda but why would you cut the cab mounts? Usually it's just the floor you cut

He is referring to a stockfloor body drop

naw. . traditional. . Theres mounts on the frame and the same style mount on the cab that sits on the frame mount. . . And you have to cut through them when you cut the floor out so the shell of the cab can drop down. . cuz the mounts attached to the cab aren't gonna move in relation to the frame. . jus where they were mounted to the cab will drop down. .

again, i've never dropped a mazda, but why would you cut through the mount? can't you just cut around it?

pics would be sweet. thats were iam at right now on my body drop.

he cuts the mounts because in order to drop the cab, you MUST move the mounts down. otherwise, when you bolt your cab back up, it will not be dropped! hence, no body drop.

Lots of body drops are done without doing this, maybe a mazda is different.

i am lazy and mine is in the garage, we got about 12 inches of snow today, I dont quite understand what your talking about, never heard of such a thing needing done,..but if no one gets to it by tomorrow afternoon, I will try to snap some pics of my cab mounts for ya. I dont really know my way around this style of mazda yet, and bought mine B/D'd.

You don't actually move the cab mounts.You will be cutting through the outer edge of them but the part that bolts to the cab will still be attched to the cab.Just be careful welding your filler plates in so you don't catch the rubber bushing on fire.
