It sounds like he's talking about the part of the cab that surrounds the bushing. It's braced onto the rocker with 14 gauge to 10 gauge depending on the manufacturer. I generally just cut a new triangle and cover the old now misaligned one with it, usually about 12 gauge, and weld around the parameter.

OK, I think I may understand whats going on here. I have body dropped several trucks. On the Mazdas the body mount comes almost all the way to the edge, so when you cut the floor out, the edge of the body mount is right there. All I did was trim a little off the edge of the body mount. I cut back the sides along the door to angle the filler plates back in, but in the extended cab and in front of the door, my filler pieces go straight to the sides, not downward. Then I patched in the gap between the angled part and where it goes straight at the front and rear of the door area. I never snapped pics of that though, sorry.

ok heres a crude drawing in paint showing what the question is. its the "body mount" thats attatched to the cab. seth hit the nail on the head.

Damn mikey. . . . Thats awesome hahaha. . no but seriously, thats a great illustration. .

I'm thinkin I'm gonna start weldin the floor back in, then take the cab off to weld the underside and plate the bodymounts then. . . And I'm gonna put the piece in for the rocker while the cab is still on and tack it in, then fully weld it while the cab is off as well. . . .

What do ya think? Any better ideas? haha I guess this is why Seth puts his up on jackstands. . MORE CLEARANCE

Ok so like I said the mount is not moving, just the brace for the body needs to be reinforced, after rewelding.

yeah make sure you weld up your jambs before you stand the cab up to weld underneath. it would be a good idea to have your doors on too. wouldnt want teh cab to tweek and the door area be smaller from the weight of the firewall area. could also brace the cab up with some 1x1 box tubing. im glad my retarded ass paint pic helped. i was bored at work this morning and knew i couldnt really put that in proper words.
