As most of you know, I am in the midst of doin a 3.25" BD on my ext cab. . . I almost have the sides done with the filler plates and all, and the back wall of the cab is completely shaved, a lil more then tacked in. . . And I got 3/16" flat stock for the bottom side of the rockers. .

So my question. . Once, the sides of the cab and the back wall are welded in, and the flat stock for the rockers is tacked on, and nothing welded in for the firewall, would it be ok to pull the body off and put it on its end so I can fully weld the rockers on and weld to body mounts back up and stuff. . . Do you think it'd be ok? ? Maybe put the doors on to help or somethin. . .

I jus wanna take it off so I can weld the rockers in easier and do the body mounts. . .

Thanks guys. .

Yeah you should be ok, just be careful. I would still brace it just to be safe.

I pulled the cab on my body dropped toyota rebuild project, and it is for the most part just tacked in, the doors do help check to make sure it's still in line.

You will love how much easier it is to work on it!

id run some braces inside the cab to make sure. i had a friend that did that to weld his rockers up (cut to lay doors) and the cab sagged some. when he sat it back down, the doors didnt fit.

front to back. he had to beat in the front of the doors where the hinges go so the doors would fit again.

id weld an x brace, like 1x1 or 2x2 square or round tubing somewhere from the drivers side to the back passengers side and repeat on the opposite side that would be ur best bet

Cool. . . I'll brace it up before I pull it off then. . . It'll jus be a million times easier to rebrace the body mounts and weld up the rockers with the cab off. . .

not only that, it will be easier to weld too. nothing worse than welding upside down.

ya. . . thats what i mean. . . Im jus tackin in the rockers cuz that would be a BITCH. . . almost 6 feet of welding. . times 4. . . 24 feet of welding rockers upside down. . . i'll pass. . .
