Just keep in mind the more you cut out, the more you expose your engine bay to the elements. My advice (from someone who cut theirs and learned the hard way) is cut the entire wheel well where it meets the inner fender. Move it up to where you need and mark it off. Trim the inner fender below that and use a hammer and grinder to smooth it out. Then re-attach the wheel well to it's new home. The izusu below my name was running 15" pathy's with 45 series rubber and the fronts rubbed a bit when I aired out just the front. By moving my wheel wells up 3", I got rid of all my rubbing issues. Relocating stuff is pretty easy once you start. Just do one component at a time. The wheel well also makes a nice mounting point for stuff, unless you want to spend the extra change and extend wires and do a nice wire-tuck.
Just take my advice, I pulled mine out, moved stuff, then ended up putting them back in as I described above and moving stuff again. I got tired of my motor getting filthy and I had a rock pop up and get in my alternator belt... chewed the belt and put a nasty sharp mark on the pulley.
