so i was doing body work on my new 4x4 bed and i ran into a lot more rust under the paint than i was hoping. i'm thinking about using the bed floor from my two wheel drive bed to put in the new bed but how would i do that? any suggestions? how do you cut the bed floor out?

any help would be great. i'm kinda stuck till i find a solution for my rust.

if the 2WD bed is in better shape why not just cut the fenders around the wheel wells and use the 4WD flares?

HMMM???? I know, give your bed to me MWA HA HA!!! Nah man, honestly I would get your entire Idea for the inside of the bed worked out and then make a whole new smooth bed floor. That's what I'm doin when my 4wd bed gets here, just my 2.5 cents worth though, lol

there is a seam around the perimeter of the bed floor and around the fender wells. you can clear that out and seperate the bed from the floor. itll be time consuming but can be done. or you can drill the spot welds out of the bedsides and replace the whole bedside.

i'm torn between replacing the bed floor and using my 2wd one or just using the bed side off the 4wd bed. which would be easy to do and what would you guys suggest i do? i dont want to smooth out my bed floor just yet. i'm hoping to still use my truck as a truck until i can afford to bag it but after i bag it i want to raise the bed floor and put in a nice wood bed in it. i'm gonna wait on that though.

thanks for all your input and help guys.

i looked at it and thought it over and its going to be a lot easier than cutting out the bed floor. mine should be easier than yours cause its an ext. 4wd bed so the sides are the same length and everything as my 2wd bed all i have to do is drill out the spot welds and the skin will just pop off then i'll either spot weld it back on to my bed or i'll get some nice bolts and bolt it up. should be pretty simple actually. the only cutting i have to do is near the brake lights other than that its not bad should just take an afternoon.
