big boddy drop/ hood ideas?

hey everyone, im always on here but havent posted in a long time. im in need of some ideas/help. my new project is another b2600i that ive bodied about an inch from the door. my problem is i dont know what to do with my hood. the 2.6 engine sticks out like crazy i need some hood ideas, if i cut my hood out enough to let it close i will have to cut out ALOT. should i cut it out? or make a bubble/ cowl? any ideas or maybe pics of a 2.6 with a big body drop and a cut out hood would be greatly appreciated. thanx

i know its old post, but no one posted for you man, have you lowered your motor down some? i did this on my 26i, you will only get about 1/2" but if you take out the cross member and weld in something smaller you could get maybe more, but becareful of the oilpan, but anything helps right then maybe what you would have left could be covered ez'er and not so BIG and ugly...i dont like the motor thru the hood look...

I don't like the motor through the hood look either. It just looks unfinished. Definitely build a cowl or some type of bubble for it. I built a cowl for mine.

ya i made a cowl over mine as well, made it out of a mustang hood

hey guys thanks for the advice, i was dissapointed at first that no one had any replies. but the truck is now getting a chevy 350 so a small cowl should take care of it.

With a big body drop having the hood cut is thew only option for it to close, and cowls are pretty much the only thing to do to cover it up. I rocked the engine through hood on my last truck, my whole webber carb filter stuck through the hood. yeah 6 inch bd was a bit much.. haha

when you started talking about making one, peter's hood came to mind for me... i dont have a picture of the hood, and peter i hope you dont mind me posting this...

how big of a bd are you wanting to do?
