front 4"speaker?

how well do they sound in that spot .my truck did not come with them thats why am asking

i couldnt tell you to be honest, i took them right out and put 6 1/2s in the doors

they sound ok, thats what im running right now, but i made a set of kick panels with a 5 1/4 and tweet combo and it sounded way better, but i didnt like them that much so i tore them apart and now im making new ones, ill post some pic of them, but it wont be anytime soon

What i had in my old truck.. i liked the way it sounded much better than in the dash.

take in to consideration that most of the time when your leg is resting it wil be resting right in front of that speaker, you can try to find a set of 4" seperates and mount the tweeters somewhere else and put a set in the rear speaker location on the side pillars, just unscrew the metal filler plates and drop down some speaker wire, or like most of us have done just add some speakers in the door there is a dude that sells some pretty nice sustom door panels for our trucks on ebay tweeded and with a design in them for around $175 search it out its usually just under b2200

^^^^ Agreed.. i like the location of mine because they don't interfear at all. I'm rockin a standard cab so i plan to put the 4's in the pillars and run those 6 1/2's in the door. I'm not a big bass guy.

I agree with all the guys here, they do sound okay if you're on a budget but if you can afford to get bigger speakers they will sound soo much better, I am running 6x9's on the doors and Tweeters on the pillars, Trust me Sounds way better. Find a buddy who knows what he's doing and you can make some crazy @$$ SHtuff without having to spend the big bucks, if that is what you want.
