I was out driving tonight, learning howq to do a stick, cause I'm only 17 and never had a vehicle with stick! So me and my pops are out at a stadium in the lot, and I'm going down this patch of road and before I knew it, I hit a BIG pothole! I did'nt realize that I had to slow down slower than 5mph just to keep this truck from bottoming out! I only have 3 inch blocks on, and I think the previous owner cranked down the torsion bars. All I know, is that its too freakin' low to be driven in this city! But anyways, I got out to check my tire so I knew I did'nt blow it out. Well, it turns out, when I put my truck in reverse, only my right tailights reverse light works! I dunno, if the bump was the cause, but I'm mad! I had my dad get out and it was working but it was very dim. He thinks there may be a short along the line of the wiring?

Not sure, all I know is that I need to know if anyone knows how to fix this? A fuse maybe?

Also, my wiper fluid resevoir has a harness coming from it, I had it connected and the light stayed on all the time. What is it for?

I turn my key, to on and the oil light stays on until I start the truck, whats that about?

And another thing, after the whole bump ordeal, my left blinker light on my guage was dim, and the signal was off! But when I did some stuff, I think I was braking, it would'nt be dim anymore. Is this like an idiot light for my lights?

My gas guage does'nt seem to work very well! What fuses should I check, and what parts? Where are these parts I should check?

And last but certainly not least, my dad explained to me about the starter and selenoid and how it was a bad thing that it was trying to keep working even after I started it. Where can I get a replacement online?

Thanks for all the help guys!

gas guage & tail light wiring are in the same wiring harness that runs out of the passanger side of the cab along the frame rail, check these wires sounds like you have a short in them causing your lights & guage not to work.

the wiring to the wiper fluid reservoir is to let you know when you need fluid in it, if the light on the dash is on you need fluid, or the sensor is fubar if it is full of fluid & needs replacing.

on the starter, check all wiring to it & the battery terminals, if these are good & it still acts up, go to autozone & get a starter to replace the old one, a lot cheaper than paying shipping costs for one over the internet.

good luck!

Okay, well, what should I be specifically looking for on the starter? It may be from me and my brother when we recently put the engine back in...

check the wires that go to the starter & make sure none of them are looks, also check the battery terminals for loosness aswell. to be honest it just sounds like you need a new starter....@ $80-100 at autozone.

u r oil lite should come on and stay on until u start thr truck and the oil pressure builds up.If it comes on when u r operating the truck stop, shut engine off and check u r oil.If u hit pothole that hard u may have jarred a bunch of lites loose.check to be sure they are all seated properly in their sockets.

bump.most older Mazda pickups fuel gauges dont work well.the sending units in the gas tanks are prone to fail or not work well.

Oh! Okay...I should have figured that. Well, then that means my truck is okay when thats the only light lighting up?

Yea, I also found out that 86-93 mazda gas tanks range from 15-19 gallons! Aye...

Is the sending unit at the gas tank?

Eh, well today my dad said my marker light in the front lights up when I go in reverse. My left tailights bulbs are dim when I put the blinker on, and my right ones were a strong solid... So something happened! Tomorrow, I'll be checking the wiring...

check the bulbs too

What the man said,be sure and check the bulbs.Sending unit is IN the tank, filter is outside the tank on the rear frame rail.
