Ok...Yesterday i bought a brand new kenwood cd player n sirius radio. I used to have a pioneer..until it stopped reading cds.

Pulled the pioneer out today, and hooked the kenwood up with the exposed wires, just to try it. turned it on, worked perfect. mint. ok so now i guess ill take a ride to get some electric tape...taped everything up, hooked up speakers, taped up everything so there was no stress on anything...go to turn it on.....NOTHING.

maybe the wires touched on the way to the store and messed something up? could that be possible? the wiring is the exact way how i left it, and everything is tight?...also this probably has nothing to do with it, but now my seatbelt/doorbuzzer doesnt work either?

does anyone have any solutions here? im ready to throw this thing out the fuckin window.
FUCK
thanks.
thanks.

i had a problem similar to that with my pioneer, i went to remove some speakers that were blown and after i put the cd player back in it worked fine then the next day it would sound really fuzzy and a speaker would stop playing but i never found out what it was because my pioneer cd player is in my explorer now.

it could be a couple of things.

first thing to try, there should be a small button on the front of the radio or behind the faceplate, that says reset, use a needle or the tip of a pen, turn the car on, and press that button in for 10-15 seconds, if it works you will hear the cd mechanism start to spin

if not that you may have blown your accesory fuse, posibility why your other options arent working, look for the location of that fuse and pull it and replace it, even if it looks good it may be bad, wont hurt to replace it

you may have pinched a wire somewhere that you dont see, keep the deck wired up, and pull it out of the dash, if it works out of the dash you pinched something

lastly if none of those work you may have fried the deck somehow, take it back to where you bought it, tell them it doesnt work and exchange it for a new one

Its definatly at least 1 blown fuse. If you cruised with the wires hooked up with no electrical tape on them, chances are they shorted out and blew a fuse. Check the one on the back of the radio and in the fuse panel.

CHECK YOUR GROUND.

If you have a multimeter or a test light, Make sure the yellow wire (on the radio harness) has a constant 12volts with the ignition on. Then turn the ignition on and make sure it still has 12 volts. Then check and make sure that the red wire has 12 volts with the ignition on, and turn off the ignition and it should have nothing. Check and recheck your ground. If you have these three things your radio should power up. If not, you may have burnt a tracer or something of the like.

If it powers up but no sound, check for shorts on your speaker lines.

ok so heres an update. replaced the blown fuses, went good. my brother borrows my truck..."why doesnt your gauge cluster come on...or your taillights" .... apparently he changed the fuses about 4 times too, same thing. My deck does not keep the memory of what it was doing before it was shut off, so im guessing that i have the 12v and the ACC wires messed up? could that be causing my problems here? I know that i have 2 blue wires hooked up to the red n yellow off my deck, and there is a red n black wire from the dash that goes to a black on my deck.

thanks for all the help, much appreciated. I HATE ELECTRONICS

Wiring is now 100%. Everything in the CD Player n Satellite Radio works PERFECT.

The fuses keep blowing and this is really starting to piss me off.

I talked to the guy where i got it from and told him the problem "well thats the cd player..your gonna have to give it to us to fix it" ...well that seems like its not the case at all, seeming as its 2 days old..and wouldnt the deck fuse blow before the taillight fuse?

Im getting ready to hammer someone in the fuckin head. any suggestions?

Hard wire the radio seperate from the truck wiring. Fuse it at the battery. Then see if the fuse for the radio blows.
