Mine's got rear speakers in it,but my std cab had those plates and I had to run wire and install speakers in it.

2 speakers in cab = poo

ya two speakers suck. especially when they are tiny 4 or 5 inch speakers

A standard cab and X cab both have at least four speakers. My regular cab had two fours in dash, and two fours in the pillars where the seatbelts are. My xcab has two fours in dash, two sixes in the rear panels, and a 5" or so speaker grill in the door. Of course I have no stereo or speakers, so it is a moot point.

Mine had the "speaker delete" option, or lack of rear speaker option I guess. It has the metal block off plates. I pulled one out the other day to put in a 6.5", it wouldn't fit without a little trimming.
